PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program
The PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is a 12-month ASHP accredited training program. This program offers a unique experience for the clinical pharmacist who desires advanced training in effective pharmaceutical care in a teaching hospital setting. This one year program emphasizes all aspects of disease pathophysiology, pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. The resident will gain experience through a number of clinical rotations and learn through interactions with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals devoted to providing optimal care to patients with various disease states and a range of complexity of patient problems.
PGY2 Pain Management and Palliative Care Pharmacy Residency Program
The PGY2 Pain Management and Palliative Care residency offers a unique experience for the clinical pharmacist who desires advanced training in pharmaceutical care in an academic medical center. The one year program emphasizes pharmacotherapy focused on cost-effective symptom management. The resident will gain experience through interactions with an award winning interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals (Circle of Life 2010 Citation Honor) devoted to providing optimal care to patients with life-limiting illnesses. Activities include rounds on the 12-bed Acute Palliative Care Unit and weekly involvement with the outpatient palliative care clinic and hospice teams serving an average daily census of over 200 patients. The resident will attend the educational activities of and train alongside medical fellows completing an accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program.
