Teaching is an art – and Summa pathology residents experience the best. In this small community of passionate and qualified instructors, students receive personalized training for today’s world of anatomic and clinical pathology.
In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, Summa pathology residents learn not only the skills and knowledge needed to pass the Board exams – they also learn how to communicate with clinicians, do surgical consults, manage a lab and run a community pathology department.
With a wealth of clinical samples from Akron City Hospital, St. Thomas Hospital and Akron Children’s Hospital, residents see a broad specimen mix from the routine to the rare. Summa’s pathology residency program has a rich history – with over 50 years' experience preparing students for success in community pathology and fellowship training.
